2008 Sara Courtney Memorial Scholarship
The Women's Active 20-30 Club of Southern Arizona is now reviewing applications for the Sara Courtney Memorial Scholarship. The Club plans to award the money raised from our Fashion with Flair event that we held last Fall.

Fashion with Flair - November 2007
The Women’s Active 20-30 Club hosted Fashion with Flair, a Fall Fashion Show benefiting the Sara Courtney Memorial Scholarship Fund. The show took place on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Kiva Patio and Ballroom, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. The guests enjoyed a sangria reception from 3pm to 4pm and then moved inside for delicious tapas and the fashion show from 4pm to 5pm. Stylish fashions for men and women were shown from many local stores including; Zoe Boutique, W Boutique, Pour Moi, Lucky Brand Jeans, Tommy Bahama, Stems Boutique, Sigi’s Boutique, Cabi, and Landmark Clothing and Shoes. The club awards a scholarship to a graduating high school senior in honor of Sara Courtney, a 20-30 Club member who passed away from Juvenile Diabetes. A deserving young woman is selected based on her academic performance, community involvement, and volunteer activity, and will use the funds to support her attendance at an Arizona college. The scholarship supports the mission of the 20-30 Club which is to provide young adults with an opportunity for personal growth, friendships, and leadership development while improving the quality of life for the special needs of children in our community.

WELCOME
Red Hot Havana
Red Hot Havana
Thanks so much for helping us have a fantastic event! Did you miss it? Read all about it..... Red Hot Havana was held Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Westward Look Resort from 6-11pm. Proceeds benefitted Steele Children's Research Center & the Tucson Alliance for Autism. The evening started with Batucaxe Drumming and Dancing then we danced the rest of the evening away to old school Cuban music by DJ Hometown Herm. There was delicious food and drinks, an amazing silent auction, live auction and a $500 raffle. We also had a Texas Hold 'Em Tournament! Interested in donating to the event next year? We are excited to provide your or your company with various sponshorship opportunities ranging from underwriting and placement in advertising, to silent auction item donation. Your contribution will greatly assist in making this a successful event that will benefit the children of Southern Arizona. We hope to have an event in June of 2009 but are still working out the details. Check back for more! More about our beneficiaries.... Steele played a key role in the founding of this club, and each year we return the favor by providing monies to projects aimed at helping the children of Southern Arizona. Our second beneficiary, the Tucson Alliance for Autism, provides evaluations for early detection of autism in children from lower income families. (These evaluations can cost up to 1,800.00).

About the Women's Active 20-30 Club 1027

In 1988, the Southern Arizona chapter became the world's first women's 20-30 Club, paving the way for women to build similar organizations elsewhere. The dream of seven young professional women in Tucson became a reality, a club dedicated to the improvement of the health and well being of children all over the world.

Into the club's eighteenth year the women in this chapter have given a great deal to the Tucson community through their many accomplishments. To date, through the generosity of local businesses, and the hard work and dedication of the club members, we've raised more than $500,000 for local youth charities.
